Prudence Island, Rhode Island (Google link, Wikipedia link) is a tiny island located in Narragansett Bay in southern Rhode Island. My mom Susan grew up spending summers on the island and her father built a cottage for the family on the west side of the island. Read: gorgeous sunsets every night.
Prudence has about +/- 200 year-round residents and is the home to one of the only remaining single-room schoolhouses (Boston Globe link) in the country.
It is very quiet and natural.
There are no stores, no shopping nor coffee shops on the island (oh the horror!). So people bring everything they need with them on the ferry.

What to Wear/Bring
Our wedding ceremony will be casual and outdoors. Please wear what makes you feel good. Seriously. We recommend layers, and a hat or sunglasses. Bring a swimsuit and towel so that you can get in the water and splash around. The Bay is usually quite calm and the temperature will be perfect for swimming.
Your presence and friendship are a true gift. If you would like to help us add to our experience collection, we are grateful for any contribution.
Providence (Google search link), the state capital, is about 35 minutes north of Bristol.
Newport, RI (Google search link) is about 30 minutes south from Bristol and is known for its beaches and is a tourist destination.
